LEARN TO SKI DAY: Beginner skate and classic lessons

January 13th, Sunday, 2 to 4 pm

Free rentals are available ahead of time at Sunnyside Sports. you will need to stop by Sunnyside to pick up. Several vendors will have free gear available at Meissner for the event. If you have the ability to ski from Swampy to Meissner on Tangent trail to help with the overcrowded parking lot, please park at Swampy and ski to Meissner!! There will be free lessons for all abilities, and for both kinds of cross country skiing, classic and skate skiing.

MOONLIGHT SKI

January 19th, Saturday, 7 pm. Meet at Meissner Snowpark

The moon should be high for good light, but bring a headlamp if you have one. We will ski from 5 to 10 kilometers depending on participants abilities and desires. Skate or Classic. There will be a warm fire, hot chocolate and cookies at Meissner Shelter. If the weather is too foul and we have to cancel, we will reschedule for February 16th . FUN CLASSIC SKI RACE

January 26th, Saturday, 9:30 am, Meissner Snowpark

Registration 8:30 to 9:15. FREE! This is an all-comers race with categories for all abilities and ages. Bring the family - we will have short distances for the little ones and Mom or Dad can ski along. Distances from one to five kilometers. NO ENTRY FEE. If you haven't tried it before this low key event is for you. Don't expect a Gold Medal - it might be an all day lollypop! For information call Tom at 317 0226.

LUMINARIES:

February 9th, Saturday, 6:30 to 8 pm at Meissner Snowpark

Come ski by candlelight. Our veteran luminarians Sandy and Linda have again volunteered to put on this fun event. Come out and socialize with the many repeaters who enjoy this event every year. Some skiers bring headlamps - sissies! Volunteers to help set up the candles call Sandy 318 6277 or Linda 382 9175.
