» Virginia Meissner Snopark

Virginia Meissner Sno-Park is Bend's community ski recreation area located off Century Drive approimately 15 miles from Bend on the right.

The area features 30 km of exceptional track, stunning views and a variety of terrain, for both skating and classic technique. There are trails for all levels from beginners to experienced skiers. Tumalo Langlauf Club now grooms Meissner four days per week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sundays from December 1 - March 31 thanks to support from our TLC Membership, generous visitors and various community sponsors.

If you go remember to bring your snopark pass, available at several retailers in Bend, and place in a visible place on your front windshield. Stop by the kiosk at the trailhead to pick up your trailmap. There is also a donation box at the kiosk to support the grooming operation, so please help keep us groomed.

What's the best way to get started?? Check out a detailed Trail Map and then read through our trail descriptions. Enjoy Meissner!

» Membership

Becoming a member of the Tumalo Langlauf Club IS showing your support for the nordic community of Central Oregon and the grooming operations that occur from December through April at the Virginia Meissner Snowpark.

In recent years the TLC has made incredible achievements at Virginia Meissner by expanding the trail system, enlarging the parking lot and the building of the new Meissner Shelter. Most recently the TLC purchased a fabulously conditioned Bombardier 400 Snowcat to provide us with exceptional, consistent grooming for both classic and skating. This machine is more efficient, costing us less to fuel and maintain on a regular basis. These achievements could not have been possible without the membership and the generosity of our community in support of the Meissner Project.

Our current goal is to increase grooming to four times a week, which gives the community grooming access to incredible cross country skiing just 15 minutes away from Bend. We can not do this without your support. Remember, it costs $14-$17 a day to cross country ski at the resort. How much is skiing at Meissner worth to you? Grooming currently costs us approximately 1,800$ a week for up to 18 or more weeks a season. This community asset not only benefits skiers, it also benefits our parks and recreations programs, COCC and our local schools and competitive cross country ski teams.

So if grooming at Virginia Meissner is important to you and your family, become a member or simply make a donation on our website or at the trailhead. Membership not only supports this wonderful endeavour, but it also give you access to club functions such as community skiing comaraderie, movie night, Luminaria Ski, Waffle feeds, Tour De Meissner and volunteering for a variety of activities that help benefit our club.
